Private organization knowledge
Private Company Knowledge Without Mixing Organizations
One of SERA's most valuable future possibilities is also one of its most sensitive: helping a service organization reuse years of repair experience without mixing its private work-order history with another organization's records. That organization-wide knowledge system is future direction, not a shipped global RAG or vector-retrieval feature.
Private knowledge begins with the organization boundary
Company work orders can contain customer information, machines, symptoms, technician notes, repairs and operational patterns. A useful future knowledge feature must begin with the same verified membership and authorization boundary as the operational records.
The intended retrieval pattern is narrow and task-specific
This is not a user sending an entire organization database to an AI model, and it is not a shared pool of all SERA customer work orders.
Relevant history is evidence, not an answer
A future system may surface prior cases related by machine, family, engine, symptom, fault code or repair pattern. The source records should remain visible so a technician can judge whether old and current cases are actually comparable.
Similarity narrows investigation; it does not replace current measurements, procedures or technician judgment.
Tenant boundaries must follow every future layer
If search, embeddings, vector retrieval, caching or generated summaries are introduced later, the organization boundary must survive search filters, storage, prompt construction, logs, generated results and source links. SERA has not selected a specific vector database, embedding provider or RAG framework in this article.
Controlled context is safer than indiscriminate context
The design goal is to retrieve only the authorized information relevant to the current task. This reduces unnecessary exposure and helps keep generated guidance tied to inspectable sources.
Human evaluation remains the final boundary
A future summary or suggestion should remain reviewable. It must not automatically become a saved diagnosis, work order, customer document or billing action.
Private company knowledge should stay private
The value of organization knowledge comes from its specificity. That does not justify making Company A's repair history visible to Company B. SERA's future direction is organization-scoped retrieval for the organization and user authorized to access it.
